What if we can process our grief surrounding climate loss so as to reignite our connections with the expansive "other than human" systems of life to which we are all a part?

In collaboration with schools, nonprofit partners, and community groups,  Ben collaborates to use poetry, song, and story mixed with circle practice to help contextualize the grief and complex emotions we  experience as a result of climate change. These issues are too large to be held individually. The role of this work is to begin resourcing ourselves to hold these complexities communally rather than individually.

The workshops take several formats, however the most developed is through the Society of Mother Earth (S.O.M.E) project; a collaboration with Change Narrative and Strong Buffalo and Oyate Hotanin.

This short film by Nicholas Kapanke documents one year’s worth of Climate Healing Circles facilitated and designed by Jothsna Harris of Change Narrative, Strong Buffalo, Laura LaBlanc and Ben Weaver.

Through the ‘Disrupting the Binding’ series with Ben, we’ve seen our community show up for unexpected conversations, grow their deep listening roots, sit with the intangible, and practice collective healing from structural harms. We’re so grateful for the space Ben holds for our community to dream of a new future.
